About me
I am Adriana Páramo
Galician director based in London with over ten years exploring the audiovisual world. Trained at USC and the London Film School, I create stories about identity, motherhood and territory through short films like Anatomía dunha Serea (2022) and Illa Pedra (2010), the first Galician fiction short with audio description. My first documentary feature, Grelei raíces no teu lar (2025), is part of my doctoral thesis at Royal Holloway on the representation of childbirth in cinema, work that has led to recognition such as the 2025 award for Best Scientific Communication at the IV Congress on Obstetric Violence at Universitat Jaume I. In 2015 I founded the Galician Film Forum to bring Galician cinema to the UK, and I also coordinate productions for National Geographic, HSBC and Michelin-starred restaurants. Additionally, I have teaching experience both at university level and in workshops for children.
